THICK GLOVES
BE VERY CAREFUL OF ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE WHEN INSERTING TRIGGER FINGER BETWEEN TRIGGER AND GUARD . I CUT A SMALL SLIT ON MY GLOVES TRIGGER FINGER JUST BELOW THE FIRST JOINT AND TAKE OUT MY FINGER TIP WHEN READY TO FIRE.
FOGGY LENSES
For your scopes and binoculars I recommend a commercial de-fogger like the ones you get at the dive shops. I have found them to really helpful in the cold weather when your own breath can become your worst enemy.
CHECK YOUR GUN
If have you traveled with you gun. Whenever possible try and take a few shots prior to your hunt just to ensure a clean shot. Carry extra ammo for any needed adjustments.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN
It is hard to imagine how a deer can hear a leaf drop from a hundred yards away. Don't fool yourself they can. Move slowly, make every effort to sneak in and sneak out, be stealthy.
LAYERS HELP
Layering your clothing helps you retain your body heat for longer periods of times. Another advantage is if it gets warmer or you increase your activity you can remove clothing to make adjustments.
